About Me

Born in Baghdad and raised in Croatia, while growing up I have always explored the world in a very imaginative way, while never feeling the limitations or boundaries in a creative, personal, national or geographical sense. That is why after finishing high school I headed to London to work while applying to universities. In 2015 I enrolled the Drama and Theatre Arts course at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I gained many practical skills, along with strong academic and critically informed knowledge.

Passionate about performance, aesthetics and fashion, I have worked throughout my degree to embrace the interdisciplinary qualities of my interests. I successfully combined them through academic learning and writing, devising theatre productions, engaging in collaborative work, producing a solo performance and initiating general, practical experimentation. These activities culminated in my dissertation titled “Theatricality of Catwalk: Issues of Scenography, Performativity, Role and Spectator.”

My parallel final project was a solo performance that I wrote, directed, designed the set for and performed in. Titled “Millennial Pink State of Mind”, the piece looked at the many cultural and psychological nuances of everyday life of a millennial woman, stuck in a what I defined as a “millennial condition”. I performed the play in front of a public audience three times at the TAP Out Festival at Goldsmiths University, in May 2018, which were all assessed performances.
