Recently, Adam Nicholls worked on SOIL as a Director of Photography! We caught up with him to find out about his experience
In Adam’s Words:
“I am the Director of Photography of a short film called SOIL!”
“I saw the role advertised on the National Youth Film Academy Members and Alumni Facebook page and landed it after sending in my CV and showreel to Talent Team.”
“Not long after, I received an email from the Director, Scott Feast and he explained the premise of the film and sent a copy of the treatment and script.”
“After a few conversations where we spoke in-depth about the style of the film and ironed out minor issues we thought could cause problems, the next step was for me to travel up to Manchester for the filming.”
“My Director, Scott, was kind enough to let me stay with him for the duration of the shoot which worked out really well as we looked at the rushes at the end of the day.”
“For the first two days of the shoot it was pouring with rain which ultimately added to the atmosphere of the film and was difficult to film in. It was great to get the experience of filming in those conditions and I now know how to prepare for those conditions in the future.”
“Ultimately I was really well looked after throughout and it was a fantastic experience working with such amazing cast and crew and hope to work with them again in the future.”
Adam took part in our April 2018, #SetReady course as a Director of Photography!
It’s great to see Adam building on his time with us and making the most of our Talent Team!
Well done Adam!
