Mark Jarvis Wins Male Presenter 2018 - National Youth Film Academy

On Sunday 16th September, NYFA member/alumni, Mark Jarvis, bagged himself the title of Best Male Presenter 2018 at this year’s National Community Radio Awards!

We caught up with Mark who had this to say: “The award ceremony was amazing. It’s definitely a moment I’ll never forget! I can’t tell people enough how grateful I am and how much I appreciate their support. I just enjoy what I do and hope that listeners do too! Now I’ve gotta keep grafting and keep getting myself out there and hopefully pursue a career in the industry!”

Congratulations from everyone at the National Youth Film Academy!

Mark Javis and the National Youth Film Academy.

With dreams of becoming an Actor, Jarvis joined us here at The National Youth Film Academy back in 2013.  We saw great potential in him and have remained in close contact ever since.

In fact, Mark joined us on this year’s Summer #SetReady Course as an Usher. We also asked him to do what he does best and interview Cinematographer, Phil Meheux (Casino Royale, GoldenEye), knowing it would be in safe hands! The interview will be up on our site and social media soon, so keep an eye out.

In his own words:

“I did my NYFA course way back in 2013 and since then have gone on to staff the course, interviewing stars like Phil Meheux (James Bond, The Mask Of Zorro) and Douglas Booth (The Riot Club, Great Expectations). My advice to people is just do it. Get out there, find the opportunities and be fearless. Then work very hard and enjoy each opportunity as it arrives.”
